Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Can I have an employee or family member clean the scene?

Answer:
Per OSHA regulation requirements of Title 29 CFR 1910.1030, no person shall be placed in a position of being exposed to biological hazards without first receiving:

a. Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) Training
b. Having a written BBP exposure control plan
c. Having been provided Personal Protective Equipment
d. Having been offered Hepatitis vaccine, exposure evaluation and follow-up
e. Having been provided appropriate method to collect the biohazard; provided biohazard mark containers for proper storage and disposal at a federal or state approved incineration site.

2. Why should I hire Advanced Biohazard Cleanup?

Answer: Biohazard cleanup (homicide/suicide, natural or accidental death) is the last thing families or building owners and managers are prepared to handle. This task can be psychologically overwhelming. Cleaning personnel will be exposed to a potentially life threatening biohazard associated with blood and other body fluids. Untrained cleaning personnel most likely will not clean the affected area thoroughly. This will lead to potential risks of contaminating other areas as well as exposing others to the biological pathogens.

You avoid the following when you hire Advanced Biohazard Cleanup.

1. Legal exposure due to workers compensation claims and the possibility of a lawsuit by an employee, family member, or other people having contracted a deadly pathogen.

2. Avoid the legal issues from violating the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Rules and State sanitary codes.OSHA requires that a Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan be in place if one employee can be reasonably exposed once per year.
